GIVING

JCUMC encourages your gifts to the church's general operating fund. These gifts support the ministries, missions, facilities, and the growth of the church.

There will be several opportunities throughout the year to give to designated JCUMC supported charities, such as Rise Against Hunger, Summit Counseling Client Assistance Fund, UMCOR, Adopt a Family/Neighborhood Cooperative Ministries and other North GA conference special offerings. You can visit the serve page for these opportunities.

JCUMC does accept other designated contributions to the following funds; Benevolence Funds including the Pastoral, Helping Hands, and Mission funds, and the Building/Capital fund. Please click on the link below to see more info on these funds. To give to any of these funds, please indicate on your check or online in the memo field. SHELBYNEXT is our online portal for church members, which provides you with secure access to the church directory, your personal contribution history, and the ability to view events on the church calendar. The ShelbyNext Portal also allows you to update your information and connect with other members.

See below for forms of payment.  We can now accept your Crypto donations via our third party vendor, the Giving Block.  There is a 4% fee they collect for these donations.   See information on crypto-donations below or CLICK HERE.  You can also make stock donations here as well but the church has a fee-free Truist investment account for that, if you choose.  Please contact Cheryl Small.

FAQs

  • You can make a one time or recurring donation via credit card, ACH or Paypal. ShelbyNext also accepts Apple Pay and Venmo (initiated through the Shelby platform, not through the Venmo app).

    You may also text your gift to Johns Creek UMC at 1-770-638-0988. Send a text message with the dollar amount (e.g. “$10”) to this number. First time users will have to fill out a short form with their billing info.

    We are now able to accept gifts by crypto or stock. CLICK HERE for more information.

  • Johns Creek UMC accepts several designated contributions. Below is a list of our current Benevolence Funds recipients. To give to any of these funds, please indicate on your check or online in the memo field.

    Note:  All designated gifts are held in “trust” by the Church until such obligation/designation has been met.  The donor relinquishes all present and future dominion and power over all gifts.  It is JCUMC policy that no gift may be returned to a donor.  Designated funds cannot be contributed or directed to a specific individual.

  • ShelbyNext is our JCUMC church database system. It also incorporates our financial giving system and child check-in system. ShelbyNext can be accessed through a web browser or through an app installed on your phone or tablet. Click here for PDF instructions.

    If you would like to change your recurring gift to JCUMC or change your payment method, login to your Shelby next giving account here. You can either sign in with email address or text/mobile number. Choose the method that was originally used to set up the account. If you have forgotten your password, click on “forgot password” and it will either email or text you a new temporary password. Be sure to change this once you are in your account. Click in upper right where your initials are, under “my account” and then account info. Once you are logged into your account, click on “Scheduled”. rom here, you will see your recurring gift and can click on the garbage can to stop the recurring payment. Once you stop the payment, you can click in the “Give Now” and set up a new recurring payment. The new payment will be set up to your default credit card or ACH account originally set up. To change your default payment account details. Click on your account info and payment methods, where you can change your default payment account.

  • Stocks

    JCUMC accepts stock donations through our Truist investment account. If you would like to make a stock donation please contact our finance office at finance@johnscreekumc.org

    QCDs

    A QCD lets you donate directly from your IRA to your church. The distribution from your IRA will not be considered taxable income.

    Kroger Community Rewards: To participate, simply login to your Kroger Community Rewards card account.
