Our Mission for the Month of April and May...
Our next mission opportunity is providing a week’s worth of breakfast and lunch for food-insecure kids. Many metro Atlanta children depend on their schools to provide breakfast and lunch during the school year. Often these children miss meals when school is not in session. Each School Break Bag provided by Meals By Grace, will supply breakfast and lunch for a child for 5 days. This is where we can help! You can pick up School Break Bags from the church and fill it with the list of non-perishable foods provided by Meals by Grace. Each bag you fill goes to a child who needs a little help getting nutritious meals when they're not in school. The more bags you fill, the more children you feed!
Where can I get my bag?
Pick up a bag at any time from the Narthex or outside Modern Worship. A list of nonperishable food items will be attached to each bag. If you don't have time to go to the church and pick up a bag, then you can provide your own reusable grocery bag and fill it with the 10 items from this list:
• 1 Regular size box of cereal
• 1 Qt shelf stable milk
• 1 plastic jar of peanut butter
• 1 plastic jar of jelly
• 1 can of ravioli or similar meal-in-a-can
• 1 can of soup
• 1 can of meat
• 10 snack bars
• 10 fruit cups
• 2 packages of ramen noodles
How do I drop off my filled bags?
Filled bags can be dropped off in our Pantry Bins located throughout JCUMC or dropped off at Pastor Jennifer’s temporary office behind the Information Desk in the Narthex.
Thanks for your help in feeding kids within our community!
