It’s been an exhausting week for the United Methodist Church. Many are hurt. Others are relieved. Some are confused. Countless are anxious. What now? Take a deep breath and do the following:
Pray
Do not stop praying for the church and those affected by the outcome of General Conference. God is faithful and much bigger than a legislative decision.
Don’t Give Up On the Church
The church needs you now more than ever. Johns Creek UMC will continue to share the radical, relentless, and unconditional love of Jesus to all people.
Reach Out to the Hurting and Be Kind to Those You Oppose
Be Christ to those who have been hurt by this decision. Also remember to be kind to those with whom you disagree. The world is watching us and how we respond to this event. If we can’t show love to each other, how can we be credible witnesses of Christ to the world?
Stay Focused on the Mission of Making Disciples
Evil loves to distract and divide. Don’t allow the noise of these last few days to deter you from our mission of making disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.
Come to Our Open Table on Sunday
This Sunday we will celebrate communion where ALL are welcome at the table. Join us as we celebrate and experience God’s love for the whole world.
