JCUMC is blessed to have many caring and dedicated parents and volunteers who support the youth ministry by sharing their time, energy, and enthusiasm. We welcome and encourage the participation of all parents and other adults interested in ! If you are interested in volunteering with the youth program, please contact Rev. Brittany Sanders.

Because we are committed to the safety and spiritual growth of all students, we follow guidelines and procedures in accordance with JCUMC Safe Sanctuaries policy. All youth parents and volunteers must attend a brief training session to become Safe Sanctuary trained. A background check must be completed and a refresher course will be required every two years. Please contact the church office for more details and scheduled training dates.

Sunday school teachers, assistants, and greeters are devoted parents and volunteers who are on the Youth Floor every week. They volunteer on Sundays from 9:45 am to 10:45 am.

Catalyst volunteers serve by helping with snack, leading age-level discussion groups, helping with praise and worship, and supervising/ participating in group games. Catalyst volunteers are needed on Sundays from 5:15 to 7:15 pm.

Church on Wednesday involves volunteers as greeters, discussion leaders, and assistants. Volunteers are needed on Wednesdays from 6:00 to 7:15 pm.

Mission projects, retreats, day trips, and sports events are great opportunities for parents and opther adults to volunteer as drivers and chaperones. These events happen throughout the year. Volunteers sign up to help during the designated student registration period.

Every year, JCUMC youth reach out to the entire community when they present this very special event. It takes many helping hands to make it happen. From costumes to set-building to marshmallow-roasting, there’s a place for everyone!

Youth Parent Orientation takes place in early August every year. Parents and students are invited to learn about the Youth Ministry, student event registrations, and many of the parent volunteer opportunities that are available. Parents who are unable to attend orientation are still welcome to volunteer at any time during the year.
