Prayer Service for Peace in Korea

Event details

  • Sunday | January 21, 2018
  • 5:00 pm
  • Korean Church of Atlanta 3205 Pleasant Hill Rd., Duluth

After months of verbal and military provocation between the United States and North Korea, it appears the entire Korean peninsula is at risk for dangerous conflict. As followers of Jesus, we are coming together to pray for the United States, North and South Korea, neighboring countries, their leaders, and that God would intervene to prevent deadly and senseless war.

North Georgia United Methodists are invited by Bishop Sue Haupert-Johnson, the Conference Commission on Religion and Race, and the Korean Church of Atlanta to come together in prayer.

Those in the Atlanta-Roswell District and others close by are invited to gather for a service of worship and prayer on Sunday, January 21, at 5 pm at the Korean Church of Atlanta (3205 Pleasant Hill Rd., Duluth). The church will provide dinner following the services.

Others are invited to lift their prayers for peace on Sunday at 5 pm.

A special offering will be collected at the service for UMCOR to go toward relief efforts in Puerto Rico.
